On this page, I'll be watching just the first episode of various different 1980s-90s children's cartoons, and posting my thoughts here! This isn't a review blog - I'm terrible at giving numerical ratings and things like that, and I much prefer to enthuse about the parts I enjoy rather than whine about the parts I don't like. So it's mainly an excuse for me to watch a bunch of cartoons and then ramble as much as I like!

Questions you may have:

• How are you choosing the cartoons? - I've just grabbed any that I could find and assembled them together in a big list, in a semi-random order.

• Are you including anime? - I'm just focusing on a few particular English-speaking countries as sources for the shows, at least to start with. A world tour of cartoons would be interesting but less nostalgic for me. So no, I'm not currently including cartoons from Japan or many other countries.

• How do you choose the first episode in cases where the cartoons are ordered differently in different releases? - I've tried to use my best judgement. I've almost certainly been inconsistent in how I've chosen them.

• For shows where each half-hour broadcast episode consists of two or more shorts, do you count the whole half hour or just the first short? - It entirely depends on what format I manage to find the episodes in.
